The St. Croix Triumph Inshore is St. Croix's entry-level saltwater inshore series, positioned to give coastal anglers premium construction at an accessible price point (approximately $140–$150). The series serves common inshore species, speckled trout, redfish, snook, fluke, striped bass, and bluefish, along the Atlantic, Gulf, and Pacific coasts. Both casting and spinning configurations are included. Fast and moderate-fast actions predominate, suited to jig and soft plastic presentations as well as live bait. Blanks are St. Croix SCII carbon.
Guides are Sea Guide Atlas Performance slim aluminum-oxide with black frames. Spinning models use the Sea Guide XDPS reel seat with eco-friendly sandblasted hoods. Handles are premium-grade cork. Two coats of Flex-Coat slow-cure finish are applied. The series carries a 5-year warranty backed by St. Croix Superstar Service, and is manufactured in Mexico (St. Croix's Fresnillo facility). Compared to the higher-tier Avid Inshore (SCIV carbon) or Mojo Salt (SCII with different configuration), Triumph Inshore gives anglers comparable guide and handle quality at a reduced blank-grade cost.
Thirteen models cover 6'8"–7'6" in casting (7) and spinning (6) configurations. All casting models are listed as having MF or M action; the spinning models are fast or moderate-fast. A 7' H Fast spinning model (TRIS70HF, 12–25 lb, 3/4–2 oz) addresses heavier inshore applications, large live bait rigs, big jigs for snook and cobia. The 6'8" models in three power ratings (ML, M, MH) offer moderate-fast action for versatility. Longer 7'6" spinning models extend reach for open-water species.
Deeper Dive
A closer look at notable models.
Lightest-power 6'8" model, mod-fast action. The SG suffix indicates a split-grip handle, the shorter overall feel and lighter power suit finesse casting of small jigs and soft plastics for speckled trout in skinny water.
The only moderate-action casting model in the lineup. Softer tip suits soft-touch live bait presentations or slow-moving lures where a fast action would telegraph too much rod pressure to finicky fish. Ideal for trout on light lines.
The only H-power model in the series. Designed for heavy inshore applications, large jigs, live eels, or big poppers for snook, large redfish, or cobia. The 3/4–2 oz lure range and 12–25 lb line handle braided lines in current.
Longest and most powerful spinning rod in the series. The 7'6" MH adds reach for casting into current, from bridges, or in surf-adjacent environments. Handles medium-weight jigs and lures for redfish and snook in open water.
