Triumph Travel
4-piece travel rod in SCII graphite covering UL panfish to MH bass in a carry-on-friendly package
The St. Croix Triumph Travel is a 4-piece pack rod series built for anglers who travel by air or pack light, covering freshwater species from panfish to bass and light saltwater. The target angler travels frequently, backpackers, international travelers, or anglers without dedicated rod storage, who need a compact, capable rod that fits in carry-on luggage. Each rod breaks down to approximately 24 inches. The SCII premium-quality graphite blank is the same material used in the standard Triumph series, keeping performance meaningfully above entry-level.
Blanks are SCII carbon fiber, finished with Sea Guide Atlas aluminum oxide guides, Sea Guide XDPS reel seat, and premium cork handle. All models are fast action, which helps compensate for the multi-piece ferrule join by minimizing flex at the connections. The 4-piece format necessarily involves ferrule compromise; some user reports note sensitivity at join points and durability concerns under sustained load. The series is backed by St. Croix's 5-year warranty. Six models total: five spinning, one casting.
Spinning spans 5'6" UL through 6'6" MH, covering light trout/panfish (UL/L) up to bass and light inshore (MH). The lone casting model (TCR66MHF4) is 6'6" MH, suited for bass fishing techniques where a baitcaster is preferred. Spinning models exceed 6'6", this is a freshwater-first lineup with modest inshore utility at the heavier end is absent.
Shaded band: the spread of the lineup's 6 models, as percentile rank among same-type rods. Solid line = series median · dashed ring = catalog median.

Model notes
2 of 6 modelsShortest, lightest model. 5'6" UL is a tight-quarters trout and panfish tool, useful for creek or stream fishing where a longer rod is unwieldy. Lure range bottoms out at 1/32oz for microlight presentations.
Only casting model in the series. 6'6" MH covers baitcaster bass techniques, flipping, heavier crankbaits, frogs. A reasonable travel option for dedicated casting-style anglers who prefer not to switch to spinning.
