The St. Croix Trout Pack is a pair of 3-piece travel spinning rods designed for trout anglers who hike or backpack to remote streams and mountain lakes. The series serves the angler who needs a rod compact enough to fit alongside a pack but wants performance closer to a single-piece blank than a budget travel stick, particularly for presenting light finesse lures like micro-spoons, inline spinners, and small jigs in clear water.
Blanks combine SCII premium-quality carbon as the primary material with SCVI high-modulus carbon reinforcement for stiffness and recovery speed without increasing diameter. Action is extra-fast, concentrating bend near the tip for sensitive feedback on light-line bites and accurate short-range casts in tight canopy. Sea Guide Atlas performance guides have stainless frames and PVD-coated tip-top. The reel seat is a Sea Guide NPS.
Handle is split-grip EVA. A padded nylon soft case is included. 5-year warranty. The lineup is two models sharing identical ML power, XF action, line (4–10 lb), and lure weight (1/16–3/8 oz): the TFS66MLXF3 (6'6", 2.9 oz) for technical brushy streams where casting space is limited, and the TFS73MLXF3 (7'3", 3.4 oz) for open pools and lakes where extra reach improves distance and line control. The shorter 6'6" model is built for technical small-stream fishing where low-hanging branches and tight banks require a compact casting stroke. At 2.9 oz it is the lighter of the two; the shorter collapsed length suits day packs and smaller bags.
The 7'3" model extends reach for open-water or large-pool work where mending line and longer casts improve lure coverage. At 3.4 oz it remains light for its length; the extra reach justifies the slight trade-off in packed size.
