Rayz Alter

The Tenryu Rayz Alter is a premium Japanese area trout spinning series built on Tenryu's Magnaflex technology, a low-modulus, highly elastic carbon construction that prioritizes feel and bend consistency over stiffness. The series serves area-fishing anglers working managed trout ponds with micro spoons (1–5 g), micro cranks, and small minnows on fine ester or fluorocarbon lines. It slots below the Rayz Spectra flagship and competes with Tailwalk's Silverna and comparable area rods.

The Magnaflex blank achieves a consistently progressive bend curve, resisting the "hinge" effect common in fast-taper rods at high-deflection loads. Reel seats use hardwood and aluminum components, no plastic. Fuji titanium-frame guides suit the fine ester lines used in area fishing. Individual models carry descriptive subtitles (Variable Crankin', Midge Crankin', etc.) that directly state the intended technique. Rod weights published at 80–83 g for the measured models, light even within the area trout category.

All four models are spinning, ranging 5'10" to 6'2", a very tight window. Power ranges from UL (RZA622S-ULS at 6'2") to ML (RZA602S-MLMT at 6'0"). Lure ceilings are 4–5 g max. The subtitles define technique: "Variable Crankin'" (RZA5102S-LLT) suggests broad crankbait range; "Midge Crankin'" (RZA612S-LT) is narrower plug-specific; "Midge Minnowin'" (RZA602S-MLMT) for micro minnows; "Midge Spoonin'" (RZA622S-ULS) for the lightest micro spoon presentations.
