Defy Black Casting Rod

The 13 Fishing Defy Black Casting Rod is a budget-tier bass casting series priced mostly at $59–69, made for recreational and beginning tournament anglers who need a complete technique spread without a large per-rod investment. The series covers the full freshwater bass casting toolkit from finesse jig work through heavy flipping, surf, and big-bait applications. Model names carry technique identifiers in the SKU, crankbait models (DB2C7C, DB2C74C, DB2C79C) share M power and moderate action, distinguishing them from the fast-action presentation models.

Blanks are 24-ton Japanese graphite, described as durable and reactive for the price class. Guides are graduated Evolve stainless steel frames with polished Alconite inserts. EVA foam split grips with an integrated lure keeper are standard throughout. A Fuji-style reel seat provides solid blank connection. The blank is heavier than some competitors in its class but the consistent 24-ton graphite spec gives predictable sensitivity across models. Fourteen casting models run 6'7" to 8'.

Powers span M through XH; standard fast-action M and MH models in the 7'–7'6" range make up the core.
