The 13 Fishing Fate V3 is a technique-specific bass casting rod series built on a PVG 36T graphite blank and designed to cover the primary bait categories used in tournament and recreational freshwater bass fishing. The series serves intermediate to experienced bass anglers who want a dedicated rod matched to specific lure categories instead of a single do-all stick. Per an independent review in Boating World and user feedback, the V3's fast taper enables comfortable casting from 1/16oz upward while providing sufficient backbone for lures to 1.5oz.
Blanks are PVG (Precision Velocity Guide) 36T graphite with a tapered profile across the range. The proprietary Soft Touch Airfoil Carbon Grip replaces traditional EVA or cork and integrates with the Evolve Soft Touch Ported Reel Seat to maximize vibration transmission to the angler's palm, a tactile sensitivity system. Guides are Tangle-Free Stainless Steel with Zirconia inserts. The Evolve Snaggle Tooth Hook Keeper is a minor functional detail noted in multiple product listings. All models are single-piece and fast action, except the FV3C74MHM which carries a moderate action, the only exception in the lineup.
All 11 models are casting rods. Lengths run 6'7" to 7'11". Power covers M, MH, and H. Fast action is standard throughout; the single moderate-action model (FV3C74MHM at 7'4" MH) is specialized for crankbaits and other moving baits that benefit from a load-and-track tip. H-power models (FV3C711H, FV3C74H, FV3C75H) at 7'4" and 7'5" represent the frog, punch, and heavy cover segment; the 7'11" H model is the longest reach option for distance pitching.
Deeper Dive
A closer look at notable models.
Compact M-power fast model for mid-range presentations, finesse jigs, wacky rigs on braid, and small moving baits in tight cover. 6'7" length suits pitching into small pockets and precise casts around visible structure.
The sole moderate-action model in the lineup. MH power on a 7'4" moderate blank is a dedicated crankbait configuration, the tip loads on square-bill and medium-depth cranks, tracks fish during the fight, and deflects on reaction strikes that would pull hooks on a stiffer tip.
H-power fast model at 7'5"; by common Fate V3 retailer labeling, this length/power configuration is associated with frog fishing and punch baits in heavy cover, where H-power drives hooks through material and the fast tip drives the bait.
Long MH fast model for swimbait and umbrella rig work, or general power applications at extended range. The 12–25lb line range is the widest in the series, reflecting versatility across heavier spinning and casting techniques.
Longest model; 7'11" H-power fast for maximum reach in pitch-and-skip situations. Suited to heavy Texas rigs, big jigs, and swimbaits where reach and leverage on hookset are the primary requirements.
