13 Fishing Meta is a casting-only bass rod series designed in collaboration with two-time Bassmaster Angler of the Year Gerald Swindle, sold as a premium-quality option at an accessible $149 price point. Anglers here are tournament and recreational bass fishers who want high-end blank performance without flagship pricing. The series is all-casting format; Spinning counterpart appears in this lineup is absent. Blanks are next-generation Japanese PVG36T (36-ton proprietary graphite) for strength and sensitivity.

Guides are American Tackle stainless steel frames with DuraLite inserts; the guide train tapers down toward the tip. Handles are Japanese split-grip EVA foam with Evolve custom reel seats. An open hook hanger is mounted at the rear of the rod body. Warranty is 5 years. All construction points to a production rod at the upper-mid tier. Eight models, all casting, all spinning-rod-style single-piece construction. Lengths run 6'8" to 7'6"; powers span M through H; actions range from fast through extra-fast.

The extra-fast models (MTGC73MH XF, MTGC76MH XF) serve finesse casting applications where tip sensitivity matters; the fast and moderate-fast models cover reaction baits and heavier applications. MH is the dominant power class in the lineup, covering the widest range of bass techniques with 3/8–1 oz lure capacity.

A closer look at notable models.

MTGC68M Casting · 6'8" · M · F action

Lightest model in the series at M power and 10–17 lb. The 6'8" length and fast action suit finesse flipping, jig fishing around docks, or medium-weight reaction baits where a shorter, lighter rod improves feel and reduces fatigue.

MTGC73MH Casting · 7'3" · MH · XF action

Extra-fast MH at 7'3", one of two XF models in the lineup. The stiff tip speeds up hooksets on slack-line techniques like drop-shot or wacky rig on braid-fluorocarbon setups. The MH backbone handles heavier jigs and Texas rigs.

MTGC76H Casting · 7'6" · H · F action

Heaviest and longest model in the series at H power, 7'6", 14–25 lb. Built for punching heavy mats, flipping thick cover, or working large swimbaits on heavy fluorocarbon. The fast action keeps the tip responsive despite the heavy blank power.
