The Meta Spinning series from 13 Fishing is a pro-co-developed finesse bass line built in conjunction with BASS Elite Series angler Gerald Swindle, made for tournament and serious recreational anglers seeking high-end blank performance at a mid-range price. Best-fit techniques include drop shot, ned rig, light jig, and general finesse spinning. The MH tops out at 8–14 lb and 3/4 oz. Blanks are Japanese PVG36T graphite, a high-modulus material providing crisp sensitivity.
Zonal Action Technology (ZAT2) tailors the flex profile to each power rating instead of applying a single taper to all models. Components include stainless American Tackle guides with DuraLite inserts, an Evolve custom reel seat, and Japanese split-grip EVA handles. An Evolve open-ended hook keeper accommodates drop shot weights, a practical detail for the intended technique set. 5-year limited warranty.
Three models cover 6'10" ML through 7'2" MH, standard finesse spinning lengths. The 6'10" ML runs Fast action; the 7'1" M and 7'2" MH step to XF. Power steps cleanly from light finesse to heavier dropshot/swimbait. Spinning-only lineup; Casting counterparts in this batch is absent.
Deeper Dive
A closer look at notable models.
The finesse anchor of the series, Fast (not XF) action softens the tip for small hooks and light line, ideal for 4 lb fluorocarbon drop shot and ned rigs where a stiffer tip would pull hooks. Shortest reach for closer-range work.
XF action on an MH blank, suitable for heavier finesse swimbaits, big drop shot rigs on 10–14 lb, or light flipping on spinning gear. The extra-fast tip still telegraphs bites while the butt delivers hooksets on heavier line.
