Omen Panfish Trout Spinning Rod
36T Toray graphite panfish and trout spinning rods in 5'6"–7', UL and L power, for sub-1/4oz presentations
The 13 Fishing Omen Panfish Trout Spinning Rod (OPTS series) serves light-tackle freshwater fishing, crappie, bluegill, perch, trout, with sub-1/4oz presentations. It is made for anglers who want a specialized light rod instead of repurposing a bass rod, and the blank and guides are tuned to the specific weight range of small jigs, tiny crankbaits, and light split-shot rigs. Blanks are Japanese 36-ton Toray graphite, Fast action throughout the lineup.
Split cork grips with an Evolve skeleton reel seat maximize blank contact for bite sensitivity. Guides are Fuji stainless K-frame with Alconite inserts, chosen for casting distance with light line, relevant when casting 1/32oz jigs. The construction level is above typical entry-price panfish rods and in the mid-market ($80–110) range for the category. All six models are spinning. The lineup splits into three lengths, 5'6", 6'9", and 7'0", each offered in L (4–8lb, 1/16–1/4oz) and UL (2–6lb, 1/32–3/32oz) power.
This structure gives anglers a length choice based on cover type: the 5'6" models for docks and brush piles requiring short, precise casts; the 6'9" and 7'0" for open water and longer presentations. The UL models are for micro jigs and tiny plastics; L models for heavier spider rigs or small crankbaits.
Shaded band: the spread of the lineup's 6 models, as percentile rank among same-type rods. Solid line = series median · dashed ring = catalog median.

Model notes
2 of 6 modelsShortest UL model. Built for tight-quarters fishing, boat docks, laydowns, pontoon legs, where a long rod is a liability. The 1/32oz floor makes it usable for the smallest crappie and micro trout jigs with light fluorocarbon.
Longest model in the series. The 7' length suits open-bank trout fishing, long casts for suspended crappie, or wade fishing where reach matters. L power handles small spinners, inline spinners, and light crankbaits.
