The Abu Garcia Veritas Tournament is Abu Garcia's competition-grade freshwater casting and spinning rod series, made for tournament bass anglers and serious recreational anglers who want near-custom performance at a mid-premium price. The series uses Powerlux 200 blanks, Abu Garcia's proprietary resin system that increases break strength without adding weight or material, and covers technique-specific casting and spinning models across a range of bass applications.

Blanks are built on Powerlux 200 carbon construction. Guides are titanium alloy with zirconium inserts for lightness and sensitivity. The reel seat is Abu Garcia custom-designed with exposed blank sections allowing direct hand contact for maximum tactile feedback, a feature aimed specifically at finesse and jig presentations. Handles are carbon fiber split grip. The result is a rod described by reviewers as well-balanced throughout the day with no notable tip or butt heaviness.

Thirteen models span 6'10"–7'6" in casting (9) and spinning (4) configurations. The casting lineup covers ML through H power in fast and extra-fast actions, a technical fast-action suite (VXTC72-5 is XF at 7'2", the lone XF model) suited for jerkbaits and skip presentations. Spinning models run ML through MH, all fast action. The 7'6" spinning model (VXTS76-5, M power F) is the longest rod in the series, suited for distance spinning work.

A closer look at notable models.

VXTC610-4 Casting · 6'10" · ML · F action

Lightest-power casting rod at ML, sized for finesse casting techniques, shaky heads, small jigs, or light crankbaits on 6–12 lb line. The shorter 6'10" length suits pitching and short-range accuracy work.

VXTC72-5 Casting · 7'2" · M · XF action

The only extra-fast action model in the series. XF taper with M power is a jerkbait and suspending minnow setup, extremely quick tip recovery loads the lure on pauses without overpowering the 8–17 lb line range. Also suited for skipping docks.

VXTC76-7 Casting · 7'6" · H · F action

Longest and most powerful casting rod in the lineup. H power at 7'6" serves heavy-cover presentations: punching mats, flipping heavy jigs, or swim jigs on 20–25 lb fluorocarbon. Bridges the tournament casting technique range from flipping to big swimbaits.

VXTS76-5 Spinning · 7'6" · M · F action

Longest spinning rod in the series. The 7'6" length improves casting distance for finesse presentations, drop shot, Ned rig, in open water where reaching offshore structure on light line matters.
