Fiberglass kokanee trolling and light-presentation series from Eagle Claw, based on the soft-mouthed nature of landlocked sockeye salmon. Kokanee require forgiving, parabolic blanks that absorb head shakes and prevent hook-tear, graphite's speed and stiffness work against the angler here. The Featherlight Kokanee Special is the performance evolution of Eagle Claw's classic Featherlight action, updated with a slightly quicker tip response while retaining fiberglass flex. Serves Western U. S. Reservoir kokanee trollers using dodger-and-squid rigs or small spoons on downriggers and flatlines.
Fiberglass construction throughout, this is the defining spec choice, outside the cost-cutting measure lane. The moderate action and medium-light power produce a cushioning flex that keeps soft-jawed fish pinned without pulling hooks on the fight to the net. Premium cork handles. Rod weights are slightly heavier than graphite equivalents, but handle balance and flex pattern are considered more important than tip weight for the trolling application. Price-to-performance ratio is consistently cited as a standout; the FL209C2 series regularly outperforms higher-priced graphite competitors in user testing for this specific species.
Four casting models spanning 7'6", 8'0", 8'6", and 9'0", all two-piece. Length choice relates to rod-holder angle and deck layout on trolling boats; longer rods give more arc during a strike, further cushioning the set. Spinning models, trolling application drives the casting-only format is absent.

A closer look at notable models.
Shortest and most maneuverable; suits smaller vessels or anglers who prefer compact rod-holder spacing. Less arc on hookset but easier to net fish on smaller boats.
Longest model; maximum arc on trolling strikes for deepest hook cushion. Some anglers use this length specifically for downrigger fishing where the arc absorbs the initial burst after release.
