The Huerco TT (Time-Travelers Telescopic) series is a retro-concept telescopic lure rod that pairs a vintage 1980s–90s ring reel seat aesthetic with a carbon-and-glass composite blank and a glass solid tip. It is made for anglers who value the slow-game, tactile character of older rod designs, including pairing with vintage reels like the Abu Cardinal C3, while benefiting from modern guide and tip-section engineering. The primary fishing style is light lure casting in freshwater or light inshore salt.
The blank is a carbon-glass hybrid with a deliberate move away from tournament-spec light weight, resulting in a heavier rod that loads progressively through the solid glass tip section. Guides are stainless steel frame and ring (non-SiC), set as conventional ring guides. An alternative model, the TT505-STR, replaces the SS guides with shape-memory titanium Recoil wire guides. The ring reel seat is a nostalgic fitting not found on contemporary performance rods.
The series currently consists of a single length and power configuration: 5'5", Light power, Moderate action, 13-piece telescopic (collapsed to 355 mm). The TT505-ST is priced at ¥28,600 and the TT505-STR at ¥38,500. Japanese copy translates as: "An old-fashioned ring reel seat combined with a simple guide arrangement, a Time-Travelers Telescopic reviving a vintage atmosphere through a modern rod concept."

A closer look at notable models.
The 13-piece telescopic breakdown gives a collapsed length of 355 mm, small enough for a tote bag or backpack. The glass solid tip creates a soft, sticky bend suited to light lure presentations. The ring reel seat and stainless guides are functional vintage fittings, not cosmetic. The STR variant (TT505-STR) adds titanium Recoil guides for reduced line friction at higher cost.
