A specialized Spin Finesse System (SFS) spinning series from KastKing, designed for ultra-light presentations that would conventionally require a baitfinesse (BFS) setup, small ned rigs, micro jigs, drop shots, micro plastics, and light crappie or trout applications. Target angler is an angler pursuing bass or panfish with 1/32–1/4oz presentations who prefers spinning gear. The emphasis on sub-1/8oz casting capability and 1–8lb line defines its scope.
IM8 ultra-high modulus graphite blanks rolled with nano resin under high pressure, producing a claimed significant weight reduction. American Tackle Ti forged titanium guides with aluminum oxide Duralight rings, lightweight and rust-resistant. American Tackle VIBE2 reel seat. Carbon fiber fighting butt and foregrip with custom EVA. The three-piece construction on some models accommodates travel. Rods are extremely light in hand, supporting the sub-1/8oz casting application.
Seven spinning models, UL to L power, 5'2" to 7'2". The 5'2" and 5'8" models (SFS52FL2, SFS58FL2) are compact options for close-quarters situations and designated UL. The 6'2" UL extends range. Two 6'8" XF models (SFS68UL1 and SFS68UL3) differ in piece count (1-piece vs. 3-piece travel). The 7'2" L models (SFS72L1 and SFS72L3) are again 1- and 3-piece variants, covering the upper end of the finesse range with 3–8lb line.
Deeper Dive
A closer look at notable models.
The shortest, lightest option, 1–3lb line and 1/64oz minimum lure weight make this a micro-finesse or ice-fishing crossover rod. The 5'2" length limits casting range but excels in tight cover, docks, or small streams.
One-piece 6'8" XF, the primary do-it-all finesse spinning length for most bass and trout situations. Extra fast action with UL power gives quick tip response for detecting micro bites while providing enough length for moderate casting distance. Counterpart is the 3-piece SFS68UL3 for travel.
Longest, heaviest end of the series, L power at 7'2" steps toward finesse bass techniques like small ned rigs, light drop shots, and 1/16oz jig heads. The 3–8lb line range and 5/8oz max distinguish this from the shorter UL models. One-piece version; SFS72L3 is the 3-piece travel twin.
