BattleGlass

BattleGlass is Lamiglas's fiberglass trolling and downrigger series, a continuation of the former Classic Glass line with updated cosmetics. The primary application is Pacific salmon and steelhead trolling, downriggers, planer boards, back-trolling, and herring or plug presentations. The fiberglass blank provides a parabolic bend that maintains constant pressure on fish during the fight, reducing hook pulls on treble-hooked lures, a characteristic that makes glass blanks preferred over graphite in these applications.

Two-piece fiberglass construction in M action throughout, moderate action suits trolling speeds and fish-fighting requirements. Double-foot guides and double-lock reel seats are appropriate for the sustained loads of trolling. The four models split between casting (conventional) and spinning (DR, downrigger) configurations. Spinning models labeled DR appear specific to downrigger setups where a spinning reel is used for easier line management.

Four models: CG82DR (8'2" spinning, M action, 8–20 lb) and CG90DR (9' spinning H power, M action, 15–30 lb) are downrigger spinning models. CG86MHC (8'6" casting, MH power, M action, 10–20 lb) and CG106HC (10'6" casting, H power, M action, 15–30 lb, 1–8 oz) are casting/conventional configurations for heavier rigs or longer reach.
