GSB Surf Rods

The Lamiglas GSB Surf series is specialized for serious Northeast surfcasters working beaches, jetties, boulder fields, and canal banks. The series serves striped bass, bluefish, and similar surf species across the full range of surf fishing conditions where rod durability and casting power under load are the primary requirements. The GSB has a multi-decade reputation among Northeast surf anglers as a reliable working tool for rough-environment use. Blanks are described as high-modulus graphite with moderate action, a deliberate choice that provides the forgiving progressive load needed to launch heavy rigs and absorb shock when fighting strong fish from shore.

Two-piece models feature a precision 50/50 split engineered to behave like a one-piece rod under load. Components include Fuji K-Series NGC (New Guide Concept) tangle-free guides, double-locking Fuji Deluxe DNPSSD reel seats, custom X Flock cork grips, and a rubber Fuji butt cap. All rods are hand-built in the USA with a Limited Lifetime Warranty. The 14-model lineup spans 8' to 11' in both standard (shippable) and Non-Shippable variants, the latter showing one-piece or otherwise oversized models requiring local dealer pickup.

Length-power-action combinations step from an 8' M-MF entry through 9' L and M models, to 10' entries in L and M with two action variants, up to 11' in M, MH, and a long-range MH-MF option. The "O" suffix models at 10' and 11' denote heavier-rated configurations with 3–7 oz lure capacity for long-range casting.
