G1000 Pro - Spiral Wrapped

Float rods for steelhead and salmon anglers fishing West Coast rivers with a baitcasting setup. The spiral wrap guide configuration routes the fishing line around the outside of the blank, reducing torque twist under load and allowing the blank to flex in a single plane. Suited to long-drift float fishing with a low-profile baitcaster, a setup favored by many PNW guides. Not for casting reels or conventional spinning float setups. Built on the proven G1000 Pro graphite blank, one of the most durable salmon/steelhead platforms in production since 1974.

The spiral wrap is added during assembly: guides rotate 180 degrees from butt to tip so line completes a half-twist around the blank. Both left-hand and right-hand retrieve versions are offered at each length, accommodating angler preference. The spiral layout reduces lateral blank bend under load, providing more direct power transfer when pulling against large fish. Four models across two lengths: 10'6" MH (GP106MHC-SPW, L and R retrieve) and 11'6" ML (GP116MLC-SPW, L and R retrieve).

The MH 10'6" handles heavier steelhead and salmon floating rigs; the ML 11'6" is lighter-line trout and steelhead finesse. The L/R split doubles the model count without changing blanks, functionally identical except guide orientation. All listed as spinning in the input data despite being targeted at baitcasting float technique; the spiral wrap blurs the casting/spinning label.
