The Lamiglas XCC Kwik Series is a USA-made (Woodland, WA) flagship salmon and steelhead trolling lineup designed for boat anglers on Pacific Northwest rivers and coastal waters. The core application is trolling, specifically plug pulling (Kwikfish, Hot Shots), diver fishing (Mag Lip, Luhr Jensen), backtrolling, and downrigger deployment for chinook, coho, and steelhead. It is a boat rod for controlled-current presentations. Blanks are a proprietary graphite-fiberglass composite, a deliberate departure from all-graphite construction.

The fiberglass element delivers the forgiving, progressive tip that allows plugs and baits to work naturally without premature rod resistance triggering short strikes; the graphite lower section provides backbone for hooksets and fish fighting. UXR construction was not noted here, this is a Lamiglas-specific composite design. Fuji stainless guides and Fuji double-locking reel seat. Matte black finish. Handcrafted in USA. Price range $385-420. Some user feedback flagged grip durability concerns under repeated downrigger-release forces.

Ten models, all spinning (conventional boat-rod style) from 7'9" to 12'6". Power runs L to XH; action M to MF. The three 7'9" models (791, 792, 793) are one-piece compact boat rods for river use or smaller craft. The 9'-9'6" models (903, 934, 965) are two-piece options with heavier trolling weight ratings. The 10'6" trio (1064F, 1064GH, 1066GH) includes a mooching-handle variant (1064F) for manual-retrieve deep presentations. The 12'6" 1265GH is the longest, suited to side-drifting or high-bank trolling where reach is required.

A closer look at notable models.

XCC791GH Spinning · 7'9" · L · M action

Lightest and shortest model; L power with 6-12lb and 1/4-1/2oz lure ceiling makes this a steelhead-weight plug or drift presentation rod. One-piece construction improves action consistency for sensitive slow trolling presentations at close range.

XCC1064F Spinning · 10'6" · H · M action

The only mooching-handle variant in the series. Mooching grips allow free-spool line release by hand, used in West Coast chinook salmon fishing where baits are lowered to depth under controlled tension. Functionally distinct from the standard GH-grip models at the same 10'6" length.

XCC1265GH Spinning · 12'6" · H · M action

Longest model at 12'6"; heavy trolling weight range (4-20oz noted in detailed specs) accommodates large divers or deep-water weights. Extra length helps keep trolling lines separated and manages rod tip height on larger vessels with high gunwales.
