The Lamiglas NightShift Surf series was developed in collaboration with the Surfcasters Journal Nightshift Crew and surfcasting designer Sean Kearney. As the name suggests, it is made for serious night surf fishing, made for striped bass, bluefish, and similar Atlantic surf species under darkness when precise casting and sensitivity need to coexist with the abuse of rock, current, and cold salt air. Blanks incorporate M4 nano-particle technology and multi-directional carbon fiber layering.
An extra reinforcement layer runs through the lower section, the butt and lower belly, specifically to protect against rock impact and to provide stopping power on large fish. Action is Fast across the lineup despite the surf application, which provides the quick blank recovery needed for repetitive long-distance casting. The split-grip handle is finished in a custom CFX carbon fiber weave for balance and weight reduction. Fuji components throughout. Matte black finish minimizes reflectivity at night.
The lineup spans three spinning models: 9' Medium (NS9MS, 3/4–3 oz), 10' Medium (NS10MS, 1–4 oz), and 11' Heavy (NS11HS, 3–8 oz). All are spinning. The 9' model serves tighter venues or lighter lure work; the 10' is the general-purpose choice; the 11' Heavy handles large plugs, heavy pyramid rigs, and longer casts into open surf where maximum range and line-clearing height are both required.

A closer look at notable models.
Shortest and lightest model in the lineup. Useful for rock jetty or inlet fishing where a shorter rod is more maneuverable and lighter lures (3/4 oz swimmers, small metals) are preferred. More versatile for mixed inshore/surf duty than the longer models.
The heavy-duty long-range model, 11' with H power and 3–8 oz lure range. Suited to open beach striped bass fishing with large swimming plugs, heavy metal jigs, or bait rigs requiring maximum casting distance. The reinforced lower section is most relevant here where leverage forces are greatest.
