The Lamiglas XCC Bait & Troll is a USA-made conventional (baitcasting) rod series built on a hybrid graphite-to-fibreglass taper, high-modulus graphite butt section transitioning into a fibreglass tip. This construction pattern is optimized for trolling and bait-fishing applications where the glass tip provides load-absorbing action on crankbaits and live bait, while the graphite butt delivers sensitivity and backbone for setting hooks and fighting fish. Originally developed for Bay, River, and Estuary trolling made for striped bass; the series has proven itself for salmon and catfish as well.
This is a working striper/salmon trolling tool. Double-lock Fuji reel seats and graphite handles. One-piece construction on both models. Fast action designation applies primarily to the graphite section; the tip's glass component softens the overall profile in practice. Limited Lifetime Warranty. US-made blanks at a price point ($420 list) consistent with mid-premium domestic production. The glass tip is a deliberate functional choice, outside the cost measure lane. Two models, both spinning in form but labeled conventional by the manufacturer, baitcasting guides, appropriate for level-wind reels.
XCC705GH: 7'0", MH/Fast, 8–20 lb, 3/8–1.5 oz. XCC795GH: 7'9", H/Fast, 12–25 lb, 0.5–2 oz. Power and length step together logically, the longer model handles heavier rigs for larger fish or faster trolling depths.
Deeper Dive
A closer look at notable models.
Lighter of the two models. 8–20 lb and 3/8–1.5 oz cover standard striper trolling plugs and live bait rigs. The 7'0" length is manageable in a rod holder or for casting from shore or a skiff.
Heavier and longer model for big-water trolling with larger plugs or baitfish rigs. H power handles the pull of heavier trolling depths and larger target fish. Extra 9 inches adds line angle management for downrigger or planer work.
