Crappie Thunder
Compact crappie casting rod for dock shooting and light-jig presentations.
The Lew's Crappie Thunder is a value-oriented crappie series made for panfish anglers who want specialized gear without a premium price. The CTC56-2 casting model is sized for dock shooting, tight-cover jigging, and live-minnow presentations where a compact, light-powered stick keeps small jigs and minnow rigs in the zone. It suits anglers who fish rivers, reservoirs, and backwater sloughs where crappie concentrate around structure.
The blank is built on a graphite construction with stainless-steel guides and inserts. A lightweight graphite reel seat reduces overall weight and improves sensitivity transmission. EVA handles provide grip in wet conditions. The 2-piece design makes the rod convenient to transport without sacrificing blank continuity through the ferrule. The Crappie Thunder lineup spans multiple formats, spinning, casting, and combo configurations, with lengths ranging from roughly 4'6" to 7'0" and power ratings staying in the light range appropriate for crappie tackle.
The CTC56-2 sits in the shorter, casting-specific slot at 5'6" with a fast action tuned to 2–8 lb line and 1/16–1/4 oz lures. Retail pricing positions the series in the entry-to-mid tier.
