A specialized crappie trolling rod series under the Mr. Crappie brand sold through Lew's, designed for spider-rigging and multi-rod trolling presentations that are the dominant crappie technique in the mid-South United States. Spider rigging involves deploying 8–16 rods off a slow-moving boat while presenting live minnows or jigs to crappie schools suspended over structure. The rod's key requirement is length (to spread rods over a wide arc), sensitivity to detect light bites, and light power to avoid pulling lures from soft-mouthed crappie.

High-modulus multi-piece graphite blank with fast action, a somewhat unusual combination for a trolling rod, but fast action aids visual bite indication on long rods when the line dips. Stainless steel guides and inserts, EVA foam handle, graphite/metal reel seat. Light power and 2–10lb line rating throughout the series. Lure ceiling is 1/4oz, reflecting the small jigs and live-minnow rigs used. One-year warranty. Marketed under the co-branded Mr. Crappie Crappie Thunder line.

Three trolling models: 9' 2-piece (CTTR9L-2), 12' 2-piece (CTTR12L-2), and 14' 3-piece (CTTR14L-3). All L power, F action, identical line/lure ratings. Length is the primary differentiator, longer rods spread lines further from the boat to avoid tangles in multi-rod setups. The 14' 3-piece breaks down for transport.

CTTR14L-3 Trolling · 14' · L · F action

Longest model at 14ft, 3-piece construction for transport. Maximum arc spread in a spider-rig spread, preferred by tournament crappie anglers who need to push rods out further than the 12ft model allows while still getting a compact break-down for trailering.
