KVD Elite Rods

The Lew's KVD Elite series was designed with four-time Bassmaster Classic winner Kevin VanDam and launched at ICAST 2025. It is a tournament bass rod line made for competitive and serious recreational bass anglers across a full range of techniques, cranking, flipping, frogging, finesse, and general casting. Price is approximately $130, positioning it in the mid-range performance tier below dedicated tournament blanks but above commodity rods. Blanks are IM8 graphite on most models. Crankbait models (CC prefix) use a composite blank specifically tuned for slow-action compliance needed to deflect on a fish strike without tearing treble hooks free.

FOCAS technology, a reinforcement treatment applied to the tip section, increases tip strength by approximately 75% compared to standard construction at that section. Guides are stainless steel frames with zirconia inserts. Casting models use a full-contact reel seat; spinning models use Lew's Comfort Plus reel seat. Handles are high-density EVA split grip. KVD signature color scheme applies throughout. The 19-model lineup is casting-only, comprising crankbait composite models (LKVDECC), general casting models (LKVDEGC), and spinning models (LKVDEGS and LKVDEGS).
