Team Lew's Elite Series Rod
Premium LFS-X5 FOCAS bass rods with VTR reel seat for tournament-level sensitivity and technique coverage
The Team Lew's Elite Series is Lew's upper-tier bass rod lineup positioned at a premium performance level. It serves tournament and serious recreational bass anglers who want a sensitive, lightweight, technique-specific rod across both casting and spinning configurations. The series is based on Lew's LFS-X5 blank material using FOCAS (Focused Carbon Anisotropic Structure) technology, which the company claims provides 75% increased tip strength relative to conventional blanks while maintaining a thin profile and low weight.
Hardware includes a full-contact reel seat and VTR (Vibration Transfer Ring) system, direct blank contact rings designed to transmit strikes and bottom composition changes. Guides are Fuji SiC throughout. Handles use Winn Dri-Tac grips in Lew's Pro Weave pattern. The combination is made for maximizing the blank's sensitivity without adding weight through hardware. Reviewers have described the balance and grip as particularly strong suits. The 13-rod lineup covers 8 casting and 5 spinning models, spanning 6'6"–7'4".
Action ratings lean fast to extra-fast on most models, with one moderate-fast caster (TLE73M). Power ranges from ML spinning to H casting, covering finesse spinning through heavy braid flipping. The series includes an XF-action 7'4" H casting model (TLE74H) rated for 15–65 lb braid, a heavy punching or frogging option at the top of the lineup.
Shaded band: the spread of the lineup's 13 models, as percentile rank among same-type rods. Solid line = series median · dashed ring = catalog median.

Model notes
6 of 13 modelsLightest spinning model. ML fast for finesse presentations on ultralight line, drop shots, split shots, and small shaky heads in clear-water conditions. Short 6'6" blank suits tight access bank fishing.
XF spinning model for Neko rigs, drop shots, and finesse wacky presentations where fast hooksets are critical. The M power provides backbone to move fish away from brush on light line.
General-purpose M-power caster at 7'. Fast action handles a range of mid-weight presentations from small jigs to light Texas rigs and smaller topwater baits on baitcasting gear.
Only MF-action model in the series. Moderate-fast taper for crankbaits and moving baits, the softer tip reduces hook pulls on treble-hook lures. Length aids casting distance on open flats.
Versatile MH fast caster at 7'3" covering a wide range of techniques, jigs, swimbaits, bladed jigs, and larger soft plastics. A common all-around selection in tournament bags.
Heaviest model in the lineup, no lure weight listed, rated for braid up to 65 lb. Designed for heavy punching through dense mats, frogging, and big-swimbaits requiring H-power butt strength.
