Wally Marshall Classic Signature Series Rods

The Lew's Wally Marshall Classic Signature Series, also marketed as Mr. Crappie, targets panfish specialists, primarily crappie and white bass anglers who use light jigs, small spinners, and live minnows. Wally Marshall is a competitive crappie angler who helped define the modern long-rod dipping and spider-rigging techniques common in crappie tournament fishing. This series covers both the dock-dipping/bobber-fishing end and the ultralong trolling/pushing-pole presentations. Blanks are IM8 graphite with a light fast tip designed for bite detection on soft-mouthed crappie.

ML power dominates almost the entire lineup. Stainless steel guides, lightweight graphite reel seats, and premium cork handles are listed. The series includes standard spinning models, rear-seat spinning models (RS suffix for long-reach/dipping techniques), and casting models. The WMCS70L is the only L power/F action model in the series, a deviation suggesting a lighter, more sensitive finesse application within the otherwise ML-dominant lineup. Lengths range from 5'6" to 16', which is the most notable characteristic of this series.

The extreme-length models (14', 16') are for trolling multiple rods simultaneously from a boat in the spider-rig technique or long-arm dock fishing. Shorter models (5'6"–7'6") serve dock fishing, casting jigs, and sit-and-wait presentations. The RS variants at 10' and 11' add a rear reel seat that allows one-handed control during long-reach dipping. Casting models at 6'6", 7', 10', and 12' expand options for anglers preferring that form factor.
