The Major Craft Re:Days 2-piece model (リ:デイズ 2ピースモデル) is a freshwater bass rod series sold as a back-to-basics entry for anglers learning technique. The series concept, drawn from Major Craft's own description, is "returning to the origin of bass fishing", developing cast, lure action, hook-set, and fight skills through rods that telegraph feedback across each phase. The lineup serves beginners to intermediate anglers who want a capable, honest-performing rod without premium pricing, and the 2-piece format makes the series travel- and storage-friendly without a dedicated travel-rod blank compromise.
Blanks use intermediate-modulus carbon as the primary cross layer with high-modulus carbon supporting the butt section for power. Fuji K-frame guides provide strength-to-weight balance. All models use a down-lock reel seat allowing blank-touch contact for improved sensitivity. Bait casting models split between straight grips (assigned to crankbait/moving lure models for balance) and separate grips (assigned to jig/bottom models for fast retrieve). Spinning models all use separate grips. All 12 models are 2-piece with stow lengths of 95–116cm. The lineup divides into 7 bait casting models (RDC prefix) and 5 spinning models (RDS prefix).
Bait models cover 6'0"–7'4" in ML through H power; spinning models cover 6'0"–6'8" in UL through ML power. Actions range from Regular Slow (crankbait) through Regular, Regular Fast, and Fast (jig/power) to match specific technique demands. The 7'4" RDC-742H is the longest and works as a heavy Carolina-rig and long-distance vibration model; the 6'0" RDS-602UL handles the finest finesse spinning presentations.
Deeper Dive
A closer look at notable models.
Short, slow-action bait caster designed to teach rod-load casting technique. Regular Slow action allows the blank to fully load on the backcast, making the parabolic bend and rebound tangible for developing anglers. Broad lure range from light crankbaits to moderate jigs.
Lightest spinning model; compact 6' length for small-field finesse. Full-body flex on a light backswing enables accurate short-range drops of micro rigs. 3–7lb line and 1/32–1/4oz lure cap defines a pure finesse role.
Fast-action bait model dedicated to bottom presentations, rubber jigs, heavy soft plastics, and Texas rigs. Separate grip for hand-return efficiency. Blank sensitivity communicates bottom texture; fast tip telegraphs subtle bites on the lift.
Heaviest spinning model; Regular action on an ML blank for cover-capable spinning work. Described by Major Craft as a "power spinning" rod that follows big bass through the fight instead of overpowering them. Bridges the gap between light finesse and bait-casting territory.
Longest model in the lineup; Regular Fast action on a 7'4" H-power blank for maximum cast distance. Suited to heavy vibration plugs and Carolina-rig bottom work across large reservoirs and lake flats where reach is the primary need.
