The Ajing Game model (SPAJ series, 24 Solpara generation) is Major Craft's entry-to-mid-tier ajing rod line made for Japanese horse mackerel (aji) in saltwater from piers, harbours, and light rock-fishing spots. Ajing is a Japanese finesse technique involving very light jig heads (0.5–3 g) and soft plastic micro-lures fished on ultralight spinning gear with PE 0.1–0.5 lines. The intended angler is a Japanese light-game angler pursuing small saltwater species at close range. It is not suitable for larger species or heavy lure work.
The Solpara generation uses a solid tip (sorid chippu) specifically tuned for the subtle load-and-drop of 1 g jig heads and the detecting of tap-tap bites from small fish. Fuji K-frame guides prevent ultra-thin line from tangling. A hood-type down-lock reel seat is standard. Blank construction is Major Craft's mid-range layered carbon, below the Truzer or Crostage tiers in sensitivity but offering reasonable performance at accessible price points. Models in the M power class accept slightly heavier jig heads (0.5–5 g / up to 3/16 oz) for mebaru (rockfish) or larger aji.
Seven spinning models, all extra-fast action, two-piece design. Lengths are 5'8", 6'2", and 6'8". At each length the lineup gives anglers UL and L variants; the 6'2" and 6'8" lengths add an M power option for heavier presentations. The 5'8" models are suited for tight-quarters pier fishing; the 6'8" gives more casting reach for open harbour or estuary settings. Casting rods in this series is absent.
Deeper Dive
A closer look at notable models.
Shortest and lightest model, compact pier-fishing configuration. 1/96 oz lower limit accommodates the 0.3 g micro jig heads used in tight-current harbour ajing. UL and 5'8" length limit casting distance; the tool is about feel, not range.
Heaviest and longest model. M power steps beyond standard ajing into mebaru (rockfish) and larger aji territory. The 1/48–3/16 oz range covers slightly heavier jig heads for deeper water or stronger current.
