The Major Craft Trapara AT (TPAT) Area Trout model is an entry-level area trout spinning series designed for managed-lake trout fishing in Japan. The manufacturer explicitly places it as an accessible beginner-to-intermediate rod for anglers new to area trout, but with a full-specification lineup including both tubular and solid-tip models. At ¥13,200 retail (~$90), it sits far below the tournament-grade Banshee BTSS in the Major Craft hierarchy. Blanks are described as flexible with a tacky feel; construction materials are not explicitly published.
Guides use Fuji K-guide frames in an original anti-tangle placement. The reel seat is Major Craft's own design in a downlock straight cork grip, a classic area trout aesthetic. All models are 2-piece spinning with the downlock configuration. Actions range from R (Regular) on the lightest UL tubular models to RF (Regular Fast) on the L models and F (Fast) on the solid-tip models. Rod weights run 80–89 g. Six models divide into four tubular (TPAT-602UL, 632UL, 602L, 632L+) and two solid-tip (TPAT-S5102UL, S622L).
Tubular models cover 6'0"–6'3" in UL and L powers. The UL regular-action models are spoon-and-plug all-rounders in two lengths for different pond sizes. The L models step up for plug and minnow work with heavier lure capacity. Solid-tip models (5'10"–6'2") carry Fast action and target finesse rig and micro-spoon presentations with direct bite feedback.

A closer look at notable models.
The shorter solid-tip model at 5'10"; designed for micro-spoons, small minnows, and bottom rigs requiring high bite sensitivity. The solid tip absorbs strikes while the Fast body action maintains hookset responsiveness. Entry point for solid-tip area trout.
The '+' designation signifies extended lure range (up to 6 g / 3/16 oz) over the standard 632L. RF action gives it better casting distance for larger ponds and the ability to work jerk or deep crank at range. The top-tier tubular model.
