The Major Craft FirstCast Bass Model (FC-Bass) is the brand's entry-level freshwater bass series, made for beginners to intermediate anglers picking up lure fishing for largemouth bass. Major Craft markets the FirstCast line under the concept of 'comfortable usability', blanks and actions tuned for approachability instead of elite performance. The series is produced in Japan and sold primarily through Japanese domestic channels and select overseas importers. Blanks are mid-modulus carbon (中弾性カーボン), which provides a softer, more forgiving feel than high-modulus alternatives.
Actions are RF (Regular Fast) across all casting models and F (Fast) or EX. F (Extra Fast) on spinning models. All models are 2-piece. Published rod weights range from 70g (FCS-602UL) to 145g (FCC-702X), reflecting the significant difference between the UL spinning entry and the XH baitcasting model. No Fuji guide specification is published; components are described generally for this grade. Six casting and five spinning models span 6'0" to 7'0". Casting covers ML through XH in 6'3", 6'6", and 7'0" lengths.
The XH casting model (FCC-702X) is made for big bass via big baits, explicitly a big-bait rod per manufacturer description. Spinning models cover UL through ML in 6'0", 6'3", and 6'6". The FCS-602UL carries EX. F action for finesse light-rig presentations on pressured fish. All spinning models pair well with light lines and small lures typical of Japanese domestic bass fishing conditions.

EX.F (extra-fast) action in UL power. Per manufacturer copy, this is the series' dedicated finesse rod for pressured, pressured fish on light rigs, the smallest and lightest model at 70g. Suited for wacky rigs, drop shots, and small plastics on clear water.
The 7' H-power model provides long-cast reach and cover-pulling power for bank anglers (オカッパリ). Manufacturer copy notes swimbaits as a primary use in addition to heavy bottom-contact techniques. One of two 7'0" casting entries.
XH with a 3oz lure ceiling is the sole big-bait rod in an otherwise beginner-accessible series. Per manufacturer, primary lure is big bait made for big bass. The 145g rod weight is notable, significantly heavier than other models, consistent with XH construction.
