The Electric Jigging model spans two product tiers, Giant Killing 1G (GK1EJ) and New Solpara (SPJE), made for anglers who want to use electric reels for offshore jigging. The technique suits those seeking to reduce physical fatigue while still made for large pelagic fish such as amberjack (hiramasa), yellowtail (buri), and mid-depth rockfish. Both grades share a low-response (slow action) blank philosophy designed to absorb the constant tension that electric reels impose on the rod, reducing strain over long sessions.

All four rods use a mid-modulus carbon blank that bends deep into the butt section, delivering torque instead of stiffness. Fuji K-frame guides are fitted throughout; an integrated power cord-routing belt is included on every model to manage the electric reel cable cleanly along the blank. The GK1EJ platform uses a slightly denser carbon layup than the entry-grade SPJE, resulting in marginally higher blank weight but greater reserve power for large fish.

The lineup is split between two jig-weight classes: /4 models cap at 300 g and suit depths to around 100 m, while /6 models cap at 400 g and address depths of 150 m or more. Within each tier (GK1EJ at ~17,820 yen and SPJE at 12,760-13,310 yen), the same 6'3" two-piece baitcast format is used for both weight classes. All four rods share Regular action.

Deeper Dive

A closer look at notable models.

GK1EJ-B63/4 Casting · 6'3" · R action

serves large pelagics (hiramasa, buri) at depths to roughly 100 m using jigs up to 300 g on the Giant Killing 1G platform. The deep-bending blank absorbs sustained electric-reel retrieve load, keeping fatigue low during extended sessions. PE to 4.0-go, 175 g rod weight.

GK1EJ-B63/6 Casting · 6'3" · R action

Heavier sibling for depths beyond 150 m or fast-current situations requiring jigs up to 400 g. Covers kampachi and mid-depth rockfish as well as large pelagics. PE to 6.0-go, 179 g. Same 6'3" length and Regular action as the /4 but with a stiffer cross section.

SPJE-B63/4 Casting · 6'3" · R action

Entry-level electric jigging rod on the New Solpara platform. Covers large pelagics to around 100 m depth with jigs up to 300 g. Mid-modulus blank bends from the belly, enabling steady-speed jigging with minimal arm load. PE to 4.0-go, 163 g. Includes cord belt.

SPJE-B63/6 Casting · 6'3" · R action

Solpara variant for deep or heavy-current scenarios. Handles jigs to 400 g, depths over 150 m, and targets such as mahata (grouper) and mid-deepwater species. Slightly heavier at 171 g vs. The /4's 163 g. PE to 6.0-go.
