Froater model

The Benkei Froater (Major Craft renders it "Floater") is a compact, frog-specialized sub-series within the mid-range Benkei bass platform. At 5'2", both models are built for tight-cover topwater work, matted grass, lily pads, scum, where shorter rods give anglers leverage to punch a frog into gaps and muscle fish out before they reach the vegetation. The series serves freshwater bass anglers operating from kayaks or fishing small, overgrown ponds where longer rods become a liability.

Blanks use medium-high modulus carbon as the primary material, consistent with the wider Benkei lineup. Both models are noted to carry SFS (Super Fine Solid) tip construction, unusual for a frog rod, where solid tips are typically avoided; this likely refers to a specialized tip taper instead of a true solid blank section. Fuji Alconite ring guides are standard for the Benkei series. The regular-fast action in the casting model and fast action in the spinning model provide enough load for frog walking while retaining backbone for hooksets through braided line on thick cover.

Two rods cover one length only (5'2") but split by casting and spinning disciplines. The BIC-52FT (baitcasting, 8–14 lb, 3/16–1/2 oz) is the primary frog tool; the BIS-52FT (spinning, 4–8 lb, 1/16–1/4 oz) extends the concept toward lighter finesse topwater for anglers preferring spinning gear.
