The Major Craft Furidashi model aggregates two distinct telescopic (振出, furidashi) product families under one lineup designation: the Basspara BX freshwater bass models and the Solpara SPXT saltwater/multi-purpose models. Both use a collapsing telescopic design instead of the multi-section break-down approach more common in higher-grade travel rods. The target angler is someone who prioritizes packability over blank performance, a commuter angler, car-trunk rod, or travel angler who accepts some compromise in sensitivity for the convenience of a collapsed length around 46-52 cm.
The Basspara BX segment uses mid-modulus carbon with some high-modulus reinforcement to reduce the characteristically sluggish recovery of telescopic blanks. Actions range from EX. F (finesse worm) to Regular (big bait). The Solpara SPXT segment covers inshore saltwater from ajing/mebaru light-game (solid-tip XF models) through light shore jigging at 10' for small pelagics. The SPXT models include egging capability on the 7'6"–8'6" ML/M models, which also handle light shore jigging and seabass lures. Two dedicated Super Light Jigging (SSJ) models at 9'4" and 9'6"/10' add light metalwork capacity.
The 19-model lineup is almost entirely spinning. Four casting models cover the Basspara BX segment (6'6" M/MH, 7' H, 7' X). Spinning spans 6'3" ultralight ajing through 10' light shore jigging. The SPXT-S63AJI and SPXT-S70UL have solid tips for light-game bite detection. The SSJ models (SPXT-94SSJ, SPXT-96LSJ, SPXT-100LSJ) are dedicated light shore jigging with no egging rating.
Deeper Dive
A closer look at notable models.
Dedicated ajing (Japanese jack mackerel) model with solid tip for detecting the soft-inhale bites characteristic of the technique. XUL power and 6'3" length is a tighter, more responsive setup than the longer light-game models.
The only Regular action model and the sole big-bait specialist in the lineup. Manufacturer notes it as the first furidashi-format bigbait rod. Also doubles for hard rock fish (heavy rockfish) in saltwater. Lure range to 3 oz is notably wide for a telescopic bass rod.
Longest model in the series. Manufacturer positions this as the distance-casting SSJ variant for reaching offshore structure, elevated platforms, rocky shorelines, or areas where the 9'4" and 9'6" models can't reach the target.
