The Rock Liver 5G Hard Rock Game model (RV5 series) is Major Craft's mid-tier rock fishing rod built specifically for made for larger bottom-dwelling fish, primarily rockfish (mebaru, kasago), black seabass, and similar species, from shore structures such as breakwaters, rocky headlands, and jetties. It is made for heavier jighead rigs, Texas rigs, and hard baits in the 7–40g range, where blanks need to load adequately on the cast yet have sufficient backbone to steer fish away from structure. The RV5 blank uses Toray T1100G nano-level carbon fiber in Major Craft's R360 Structure manufacturing process, which orients carbon fibers in four axial directions (vertical, diagonal left, diagonal right, and lateral).
This construction claims improvements in torque resistance and lateral stiffness over conventional single-orientation wraps. Guides are Fuji K-series. All models are two-piece spinning configuration except the MH/B baitcast variant. Rod weights across the lineup run approximately 85–128g. The /B suffix on the RV5-802MH indicates a baitcasting trigger grip. Eight models span 8'0" to 9'8", power ML through XH, all fast/regular-fast action. The shorter 8' models (ML, M, MH) address standard rock fishing at moderate range; the 9'6" and 9'8" models are for extended reach from high breakwaters or rocky surf.
The 9'8" XH tops out at approximately 65g lure weight (2 5/16oz) and is the series' heavy-structure tool for species like large rockfish or amberjack class fish that venture inshore.

A closer look at notable models.
Only baitcasting model in the series. Suited to anglers running baitcast tackle for heavier Texas or punching rigs in rock fishing contexts, uncommon in JDM rock game but useful where precise placement and line management under load matters.
Longest and heaviest model, covering lures to ~65g. Intended for high-standpoint casting from elevated breakwaters or open rock faces. The XH power is appropriate for species requiring hard hook-sets and maximum leverage when running into structure.
