The Grandship 1G Hitotsu Tenya model (GR1HT) is a dedicated boat spinning rod series for hitotsu-tenya and tai-rubber fishing, primarily made for red sea bream (madai) in Japanese offshore waters. Hitotsu tenya is a finesse bottom-contact technique using a single hook weighted rig; it demands a rod that transmits delicate bites from cautious fish while providing enough backbone to work tenya and kabura jigs in current. This series sits in the 1G (entry-to-mid) grade and is designed to give access to specialty tenya performance at moderate cost.
The series uses high and medium density carbon blanks. A key design split within the lineup is between standard tubular-tip and a solid-tip configuration. Solid tips maximize bite detection and reduce resistance felt by a fish mouthing the tenya, which is critical for reluctant bream. Tubular tips provide a slightly more progressive Fast action suited to anglers who prefer direct feedback and stronger hook-sets. All models use Fuji guides and standard spinning reel seats. All four models are 7'6" or 7'8" spinning rods covering H, XH, and MH power ratings.
The base H-power model (S762H) and its solid-tip sibling (S762H/B) sit at the lightest end for tenya weights of roughly 30-90 g. The XH model handles heavier tenya in deeper or faster water up to around 130 g. The S782MH model is the only 7'8" variant, offering MH power for mid-range versatility with slightly more reach.

A closer look at notable models.
Solid-tip configuration of the 7'6" H-power model. The solid section transfers even subtle bites from cautious madai without creating resistance at the hook end, improving hookup rate on fish that tentatively mouth the bait. Suited for the 30-90 g tenya range.
XH power for heavier tenya rigs used in deeper water or strong tidal current, covering jigs in the 90-130 g range. The stiffer blank maintains sensitivity while handling the additional weight load without excess tip droop.
The only 7'8" model in the lineup. MH power suits moderate tenya weights (30-90 g) and the longer blank provides added leverage for working the tenya on the drop and during retrieve. The extra length aids line control in crosscurrent situations.
