Low Response Category

The Low Response Category (LRC) is a sub-series within the Egizaust 5G (EZ5) shore eging lineup, made for anglers made for large squid (primarily Todarodes pacificus and Sepioteuthis lessoniana) with a restrained jerking style. The LRC designation (Japanese: low response category) describes a deliberately soft blank that limits how far the egi travels per jerk, keeping it tighter in the strike zone and preventing aggressive rod rebound that can discourage cautious squid.

This presentation is effective when squid are in a neutral or negative mood. Blanks are built on Egizaust 5G architecture but with a softer overall taper compared to the standard EZ5 tubular models. The flexible blank also reduces physical strain during all-day eging sessions. All four models are baitcast format, reflecting a niche group of Japanese eging anglers who prefer baitcast reels for egi control and feel. Fuji K-frame guides are standard throughout. The LRC platform shares physical dimensions with the Tubular sub-series but has a noticeably softer blank feel.

The lineup covers two lengths (8'3" and 8'6") crossed with two power classes (ML and M), producing a 2x2 matrix. All use RF (Regular Fast) action and lure ranges of 3/16-7/16 oz (ML) or 1/4-1/2 oz (M). There are Spinning models in this LRC sub-series is absent. The length difference between 8'3" and 8'6" primarily affects casting distance on open shore.
