The Finetail Begins (FFB) Main Stream model is Major Craft's entry-level native trout spinning series designed for main-stem river and lake fishing in Japan, made for sakura masu (cherry salmon) and large yamame/amago. The target angler is an intermediate trout lure angler who wants responsive performance at a lower price point than Major Craft's upper Finetail tiers.

Regular-fast (RF) action PE-compatible blanks that load smoothly on both minnows and heavier spoons up to 28g. The slightly larger guide sizing compared to shorter creek models accommodates cold-weather icing resistance and heavier leader tippets for large-fish applications. Construction uses Major Craft's standard mid-grade carbon layup for the Finetail Begins price tier.

Two models cover distinct fishing distances: FFB-762MH (7'6", MH) suits larger pooled rivers and wide stretches where back space is limited but casting distance is needed; FFB-862MH (8'6", MH) extends range for open main stems and lake shore. Both share identical line (8-20lb) and lure (3/16-1oz) ratings in the lineup data and RF action. Spinning only.
