The Major Craft Egizaust 5G Solid Tip Model (EZ5 Shore) is a shore eging rod built for squid fishing from rocks, jetties, and shoreline structure. It is made for anglers made for squid with egi jigs in the 2.0–4.0 size range, and the solid tip is specifically designed to detect the soft, hesitant takes that squid give when mouthing a jig without committing. The target angler fishes light PE braid in salt and needs maximum tip sensitivity without sacrificing blank stiffness for driving jig action.
The blank uses Toray T1100G carbon fiber wound in the R360 structure, carbon layup in multiple directional angles to reduce tip-flex deviation and deliver consistent power transmission without blank twist. Guides are Fuji stainless steel and carbon frame models fitted with SiC rings. The solid tip section replaces the hollow tubular tip found on standard eging rods to avoid premature hook loads that cause squid to release. Japanese copy translates as: "The delicate solid tip does not miss a small hit.
You can maintain the squid on the jig without giving a sense of discomfort even during the hold-pull peculiar to threaded squid." This series lists a single model: 8'6", Medium power, Fast action, rated PE 0.4–1.2, egi 2.0–4.0, priced at ¥28,100. The EZ5 platform also includes hollow-tip, low-response, and offshore tip-run variants as separate series.

A closer look at notable models.
The solid tip is the primary functional feature: it bends progressively under the weight of a holding squid and telegraphs the take without the sudden loading that causes squid to release. Medium power and Fast action provide the blank stiffness needed to impart sharp egi action while the solid tip absorbs the subtle bite. Rated for egi 2.0–4.0 (roughly 3.5–20 g) and PE 0.4–1.2.
