The Giant Killing 1G Tachiuo Jiggin Model (ジャイアントキリング1G タチウオジギングモデル) is a dedicated 2-piece baitcasting rod for boat hairtail (tachiuo) jigging in nearshore Japanese coastal waters. It fits anglers who want a purpose-designed blank optimized for the mild, rhythmic jigging strokes that hairtail respond to, instead of a generic offshore jigging rod. Release: June 2026. The blank uses torque-rich intermediate-modulus carbon in a regular (R) action throughout, producing a smooth full-curve bend that auto-generates hookset force and reduces dropoffs.
Fuji K-frame guides with core double-wrapping limit blank stress at guide feet. The grip is ergonomically balanced to reduce fatigue on extended sessions. The 2-piece breakdown keeps the rod packable and storable. The lineup consists of two identically-lengthed 6'4" models at the same price (¥14,500/¥15,950 with tax), differentiated by lure weight ceiling and PE line rating.
