The Tachiuo model is a sub-series of the Crostage (CRX) shore range specifically configured for shore tachiuo fishing, shore-based lure fishing for largehead hairtail (Trichiurus lepturus), known in Japanese as tachiuo. Hairtail fishing from shore is a major night-fishing genre in Japan, conducted from breakwaters, piers, and rocky shores using metal jigs, soft plastics on jig heads, and dedicated hairtail lures. The W suffix in model codes identifies these as wind-style (winding) rods suited to moderate-speed continuous retrieves instead of aggressive jigging.
All four models are spinning with RF (Regular Fast) action. The Crostage platform uses a cross-carbon blank construction that balances sensitivity with casting durability at an accessible price point. The W designation distinguishes these from other CRX models and signals a blank tuned for smooth, consistent retrieve loads. Lure ranges cover 1/4-3/4 oz for M-power models and 3/8-1 oz for the single MH model. All are two-piece. The lineup covers 8'0" to 8'6" in two power classes: M (three models) and MH (one model).
Within the M-power group, three lengths are offered (8', 8'3", 8'6"), giving anglers a choice of reach and casting arc based on shore position. The 8'3" MH model is the dedicated heavy option for larger hairtail or heavier lures in current.

A closer look at notable models.
Shortest model at 8', M power, 1/4-3/4 oz. Suits compact pier and breakwater settings where a shorter rod is more manageable. Covers the standard weight range for shore tachiuo metal jigs and soft plastics on jig heads.
The only MH power model in the series, at 8'3". Handles heavier lures to 1 oz for large hairtail specimens or use in tidal current. The extra backbone also aids hooksets when made for larger fish.
Longest model at 8'6", M power, same 1/4-3/4 oz range as the 802MW. Adds casting distance and overhead clearance from elevated shore positions. Useful on open breakwaters where maximum reach and line angle control matter.
