Tachiuo・Wind model

The Tachiuo Wind series covers two separate Major Craft lines, the Solpara SPX and the Triple Cross TCX, both dedicated to shore-based hairtail (tachiuo/Trichiurus) fishing using the wind fishing method. Wind fishing involves casting lighted lures or cut-bait rigs into current from breakwaters at night, retrieving slowly. The target angler fishes from urban harbour structures after dark, primarily in autumn. Both sub-series use the same technique but differ in blank grade: SPX is Solpara entry-level carbon, TCX is Triple Cross mid-grade with higher-modulus carbon and stricter tolerances.

Blanks across both sub-series are 8'3" and 8'6", powers ML through MH, all regular-fast action. The length range is standard for urban breakwater tachiuo, long enough for reach over seawall edges without being unwieldy in confined walkways. Lure ratings run 7–28g, appropriate for the small lead-headed rigs, soft plastic shads, and chemical stick-rigged floats used in hairtail fishing. Fuji VSS reel seats and EVA grips are consistent across both sub-series; TCX adds higher-grade carbon guides. The lineup splits 4 models per sub-series (SPX-832MLW, SPX-832MW, SPX-862MHW, SPX-862MW and TCX equivalents).

ML models are suited to lighter rigs with chemical light floats; M and MH models handle heavier leader rigs and larger artificial shads. The W suffix across all models is specific to the wind fishing designation. TCX models are approximately 10–15% more expensive than SPX counterparts for equivalent power ratings.
