Tiprun model

The Major Craft Tiprun model aggregates tip-run eging rods from three families: Egizaust 1G (EZ1TE), Egizaust 5G (EZ5TE), and New Solpara (SPJTE). Tip-run eging (ティップランエギング) is a boat-based squid jigging technique using weighted squid jigs dropped vertically, with brief rod jerks to animate the jig and the rod tip used to read pressure-bite strikes. It is distinct from shore eging, the technique requires shorter rods, faster tip response, and clear tip visibility. Target species is primarily spear squid (ケンサキイカ) and other offshore squid species in Japanese and East Asian coastal waters.

EZ1TE is the entry-1G tier with a newly designed blank focused on approachability and fatigue reduction during extended jerk cycles. EZ5TE uses the R360 multi-axis carbon structure with Fuji SiC carbon-frame guides for improved cast distance and sensitivity. SPJTE (New Solpara) is the entry-level option, sharing construction philosophy with the SPJLJ jigging family. All models use Fast action to ensure rapid tip return after each jerk, critical for reading subtle squid bites on the tip. All 19 models are spinning only, which is standard for tip-run technique.

Lengths are 5'3" to 6'8", a range suited to the boat cockpit with short-leader vertical presentations. Powers run UL through M. The EZ5TE adds a 5'3" compact option and a 6'8" UL model not present in EZ1TE. The 5'10" and 6'3" lengths appear across all three families, showing these are the core tip-run lengths. No EZ1TE 5'3" or 6'8" models exist, those are EZ5TE and SPJTE exclusives.
