Troutino Stream
JDM stream trout rods in UL–MH for mountain streams and BFS; 3'8" to 8'2"
JDM stream trout series from Major Craft made for native trout (yamame, iwana, amago) in small mountain streams and river headwaters, with secondary utility for BFS (bait finesse system) bass and smallmouth anglers. The series emphasizes compact to mid-length rods (3'8" to 8'2") covering both ultralight UL/L spinning work and longer ML/M models for river streamer presentations. Casting (baitcast/BFS) variants are also included for anglers using dedicated BFS reels. Blanks use a blend of high- and mid-modulus carbon fiber tuned by model for application.
Fuji Tangle-Free K-Guides with Alconite rings are fitted across the lineup for line management with light mono and fluorocarbon. Spinning models use a traditional reel seat; casting models feature a custom wood reel seat suited to compact BFS reels and provide better palmability. Casting models also carry a custom slanted full-cork grip enabling wider wrist movement for underhand and flick casting, which is standard in tenkara-adjacent stream approach. Fifteen models: eleven spinning (3'8" to 8'2") and four casting/BFS (3'8" to 5').
Spinning models progress from 3'8" UL ultrashort tools for confined stream gorges through 8'2" MH rods for river distances. The 6'9" TTS-692ML and 7'8" TTS-782M and 8'2" TTS-822MH carry RF (regular-fast) action, differing from the fast-action shorter models, showing a transition to river presentation style at longer lengths. The four casting models are all compact (4'10" or shorter) confirming a BFS instead of conventional casting intent.
Shaded band: the spread of the lineup's 15 models, as percentile rank among same-type rods. Solid line = series median · dashed ring = catalog median.

Model notes
5 of 15 modelsShortest BFS casting model; matches the spinning equivalent in length and spec but pairs with a compact BFS reel. Wood reel seat and slanted cork grip enable flick-casting in stream corridors.
Shortest model at 3'8"; designed for the tightest stream gorges where overhead casting is impossible. The UL/F blank loads the minimum 1/32 oz jig with enough authority for small yamame and iwana.
Longest BFS model at 4'10"; UL casting for more open stream reaches or riverbank access where a slightly longer BFS stick improves casting control while keeping within the compact BFS format.
Transition model shifting to RF action; the longer length and slower recovery suit downstream swings or light spinner presentations on mid-sized river runs where casting distance matters over precision.
Longest and heaviest spinning model; MH/RF serves larger rivers or coastal river sea trout applications. The 8–16 lb line range handles heavier fluorocarbon leaders for bigger fish.
