UL model

The Major Craft AJI-DO 1G (AD1) UL model is a dedicated JDM ajing rod, a Japanese light-game technique made for aji (horse mackerel / Trachurus japonicus) with micro-jigs and soft plastics weighing under 3 g. The series sits at the entry tier of Major Craft's ajing lineup, sharing core concepts with the higher-end 5G series at lower price. Target angler: beginners to intermediate ajing anglers. Not appropriate for heavier lure work or species beyond finesse light-game serves.

The XF (extra-fast) action across all three UL models is essential for ajing, the tip must telegraph the subtle tap of a horse mackerel while transmitting dart action to tiny lures. Lure range is confirmed at 1/96 to 3/32 oz (approximately 0.3–2.7 g), consistent with ajing's micro-lure demands. Two-piece construction (2 joints) for portability. Blank suppresses tip wobble on cast to maintain accuracy with lightweight rigs. Weight confirmed in the 52–61 g range across the lineup, very light in hand.

Three lengths at 5'8", 6'2", and 6'8", all UL/XF. Length selection follows casting distance and sensitivity preference: 5'8" for close-range harbor work with maximum tip feel; 6'8" for slightly longer casts and boat-rail distance management. All spinning, all two-piece. No power variation, the series is a single-technique, single-power lineup separated by length.
