Vertical Contact model

The Ajido 1G Vertical Contact (AD1VC) is a dedicated bachikon-ajing rod, a niche Japanese offshore technique where a jig-head rig is dropped vertically from a boat to target Japanese horse mackerel (aji/maji) near the bottom in water typically 10–30 m. Launched in November 2025, the series inherits its blank character from Major Craft's established Ajido (鯵道) ajing lineage and is specialized for the higher lead weights and bottom-contact demands of boat-based vertical presentation, distinct from shore-ajing rods.

The blank is developed specifically for bachikon sensitivity and power, a delicate tip that transmits the subtle inhale-bite of aji against heavier lead (5–30 号, roughly 19–112 g), backed by enough butt section to control larger fish. Fuji K-guide frames with a Major Craft original guide setting prioritize bite transmission and operability. Spinning models use a VSS reel seat; bait models use an ECS seat. All are 2-piece with 100 cm stowed length. Four models cover two distinct capability tiers: the L-power models (AD1VC-S632L/S and AD1VC-B652L/S) handle lighter lead (5–20 号) suited for shallower or calmer water; the ML-power models (AD1VC-S652ML/S and AD1VC-B652ML/S) handle heavier lead (15–30 号) for deeper drops or current.

Each tier is offered in both spinning and bait (casting) format. Action varies, L spinning is Fast, L bait is Regular-Fast; ML spinning is Regular-Fast, ML bait is Fast.
