Egeria Area

Designed specifically for managed trout fishing in Japan's "area" (管理釣り場, kanri tsuri-ba) format, fee-access stocked ponds where pellet-conditioned trout are targeted with small spoons, micro-spinners, and floating plugs on ultralight tackle. The format rewards subtle presentation and repeated casts over a small area; rod feel and blank responsiveness are primary concerns. Target angler is a dedicated area trout competitor or enthusiast, outside the casual user lane.

The Egeria Area Performance (ETGS series) uses a carbon fiber blank with a technique called carbonology-style spiral wrapping, which Palms uses to resist torque during hard runs from larger stocked fish. At 72–74 grams, both models are genuinely light-in-hand. UL power throughout, with 1–4 lb line and lure ratings of 1–4 g, this is a 2–3 g spoon rod, outside the trout rod for rivers or wild fish lane. The two-piece (indicated by the -2 suffix) breakdown is useful for transport to and from area venues.

Two models at close lengths: ETGS-60UL-2 at 6'0" (lure 1/32–1/8 oz, line 1–4 lb) and ETGS-62UL-2 at 6'2" (lure range slightly extended, 1–4 g). The 60UL is described as the more versatile all-rounder for varied lure work; the 62UL adds reach for longer-range presentations and is described as better-suited for handling larger fish when they appear. Both are spinning only.
