Molla

The Molla is Palms' dedicated Japanese freshwater bass rod series, designed for anglers who want a single series that handles finesse spinning through medium-power baitcasting without switching brands. Target species is largemouth and smallmouth bass in lake, river, and bank scenarios. It suits anglers who fish a wide range of presentations and prefer Japanese-grade fit-and-finish at a mid-tier JDM price point.

Blanks are built on Palms' X Carbonology technology, a cross-directional carbon fiber layup applied throughout the entire blank from butt to tip, inherited and improved from the prior generation Molla. Each rod is two-piece. The series is coherent in its moderate-to-light power orientation; no model crosses into heavy bass territory. Construction weight is kept low, with finesse spinning models around 100-110 g.

The lineup gives anglers 5 casting (MGGC) and 3 spinning (MGGS) models, all 2-piece. Lengths run 6'2" to 7'3". Casting covers L through MH power across XF, F, and MF actions for presentations from finesse bait casting to jig-and-worm. Spinning covers L to ML+ for drop shot, shaking, and bank casting. Each model carries a named technique role (e. g. "Bait Finesse," "Shaking Specialty," "Bank Fisher").
