RERA KAMUY (レラカムイ, meaning 'wind god' in Ainu) is Palms' Hokkaido-specific rod series, released in 2013 and shaped around the species and conditions unique to Japan's northernmost island, native char, yamame, sakuramasu (cherry trout), and Pacific salmon. The name and logo imagery reference Ainu cultural motifs. The series serves the full Hokkaido freshwater spectrum from tight mountain headwaters to large rivers and open lakeshores. Blanks use X-Carbonology diagonal carbon wrapping to resist twist and improve stiffness-to-weight ratio, with Tangle-Free K-guides throughout.
Cork handles use fine-grade, high-density natural cork selected for both grip quality and appearance; trout models have turned wood end caps with laser-engraved aluminum inserts; salmon models use rubber butt caps. Reel seats have soft-coat non-slip finish. Rod weights on trout models run 86-119g; salmon models run 253-342g. The 12-model lineup divides cleanly into three sub-groups. Short trout spinning models (RKSS-51L through RKSS-73M, 5'1"–7'3") cover mountain stream to large-river trout and rainbows.
Two baitcasting trout models (RKSC-53UL and RKSC-69ML) mirror the spinning counterparts for cover-oriented baitcasting. Four long salmon spinning models (RKSS-89H through RKSS-136H+, 8'9"–13'6") are designated 'Northernsalt M. Torque' and target shore salmon in rivers and coastal zones.
