The Prox MARUIKA ST is a single-model boat casting rod specialized for maruika (Pacific flying squid, Todarodes pacificus) fishing, a Japanese offshore technique made for larger squid from a boat at night using bottom-bouncing and jigging methods, distinct from eging (shore squid casting). "ST" designates the Solid Tip variant within Prox's lineup, confirming the rod's emphasis on sensitivity for detecting subtle squid contacts.

The blank features a glass solid tip (0.8 mm tip diameter) with 8:2 action. The white-painted tip enables visual detection of hesitations and taps that do not register as a full pull. The sensitive blank also transmits tactile feedback through the grip as a secondary detection system. Double-foot Fuji-LN guides reinforce the butt section for repeated jigging loads. A Fuji TCS trigger reel seat is fitted; the separate grip design allows side-hand placement common in maruika technique.

At 5'3" (160 cm), the compact MIST160 format suits crowded boat decks. The lineup is a single model: MIST160 (5'3", casting). No additional length variants are documented for this specific series.
