MICROSALT TE

The MICROSALT TE is a compact telescopic travel rod from Japanese manufacturer Prox, designed for saltwater lure fishing from shore, jetties, or light boats. The TE designation indicates a 2024 model update (versus the earlier SE) with improved blank materials and reportedly better strength despite the multi-section compact format. Primary applications are light inshore salt lure fishing, made for seabream, small bass, light rockfish, and similar species common to Japanese inshore salt lure (microsalt) fishing. All models are ML power and collapse to a portable form factor, with lengths extending from 5'10" to 8'2" in the deployed state.

Both casting and spinning variants share the same length tiers (5'10", approximately 7'0", and 8'0"), giving matched pairs for anglers who want versatility in a single travel kit. The telescopic construction trades some sensitivity versus one-piece blanks, but the TE revision is noted in user feedback as substantially stronger than the prior SE version. Line ratings (8–16 lb casting / 4–12 lb spinning) and lure ranges (1/4–3/4 oz casting / 3/32–1/2 oz spinning) are consistent with light inshore salt lure fishing across all models.

Six models total: three lengths × two configurations (casting/spinning). The length range from 5'10" to 8'+ accommodates a wide range of salt lure scenarios, the shortest suits pier or structure fishing where a long rod is impractical; the longest covers beach surf or wider rock platforms. All models share ML power, so power selection is outside the variable lane, only length and configuration differ.
