NISAKUME KAPPOU IKI FUGU

The NISAKUME KAPPOU IKI FUGU (二尺目割烹活フグ) is a single-model casting rod for ikifugu, a Japanese boat technique made for puffer fish (fugu, chiefly torafugu) using live or fresh bait presented with maximum sensitivity. The name references a "ni-shaku-me" (second-foot) length designation and "kappou" culinary-grade handling, reflecting that caught fugu must remain alive for licensed preparation. The blank is a highly sensitive carbon shaft with 8:2 tip-action, moderately fast, tip-progressive, to telegraph the light, exploratory touch of puffer fish. The tip is a glass solid section painted white for high visibility, accented with high-vis orange wrapping. The reel seat is a Fuji ECS-16 blank-touch design allowing fingertip contact with the blank for maximum tactile sensitivity. Guide train is F top guide, L mid guides, and a double-foot LN butt guide.
