OCTOPUS GAME AIR-K TE
Compact Air-K boat casting rod for octopus jigging with K-guide PE line management
The OCTOPUS GAME AIR-K TE is a compact casting rod in Prox's dedicated octopus-game lineup, built on the Air-K platform with Fuji K-frame guides for PE line management. The Air-K designation across Prox's range signals a lightweight high-carbon blank; the TE suffix distinguishes this variant from other models in the same family. Target technique is boat-based octopus jigging with egitako or weighted rigs worked vertically along soft or mixed bottom.
At 5'11" (approximately 1.80 m) the rod is shorter than typical boat rods, positioning it for close-quarter work where a compact blank improves vertical control. Medium power suits the varied-weight rigs used when made for octopus across different depth ranges. Related Air-K octopus models feature a sensor tip designed to produce a comfortable enticing action during the lift-pause-drop retrieve that triggers octopus strikes.
Blank construction follows the Air-K platform's high-carbon, weight-reduction emphasis. The lineup is a single model: OGAKTGS18M at 5'11", casting, medium power. It sits within the broader Prox octopus-game rod family alongside the Air-K SE and ST2 variants, each tuned to slightly different presentations or price tiers.
